TEAM PROFILES

Clive Broe

Clive is a Partner and Head of our Immigration Department. He was admitted in 1980 and has over 28 years experience of criminal Law. He is an Immigration Judge, accredited Immigration advisor and has special interests in Human Rights matters. He was formerly an authorised Public Prosecutor of Zimbabwe and spent nine years working on legal development projects there.

Clive was a Consultant to the Home Office Research Programme into the Criminal Procedures Act 1996 and with a Diploma in training and development teaches Judicial Administration at the Royal Institute of Public Administration. He trains the Police on the role of the solicitor at the Police Station.

Clive is a member of the VHCC (Very High Cost Case) Panel, as well as being a Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor.

 



Jim Hennessey

Jim is a Partner and Head of our Criminal Department. Before becoming a solicitor Jim was a Probation and Court Welfare Officer. He has also lectured in Criminal Law and trains the Police on the role of the solicitor at the Police Station.

Jim is a keen criminal advocate and a member of the VHCC (Very High Cost Case) Panel, as well as being a Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor.

 



Martin Oldham

Martin is a Partner and Head of our Childcare and Family Department and is also a leading Criminal Practitioner. Martin qualified as a Solicitor over 30 years ago. Crime and Childcare law have dominated his practice since then. Two of his more high profile cases have been filmed and broadcast, the last involving Charles Bronson who he represented for 2½ years.

He is a Recorder of the Crown Court and has higher rights of audience enabling him to appear in all of the criminal courts in the land. He also sits as a Recorder in the County Court dealing with Family and Childcare law. Martin is Deputy Coroner for Bedfordshire and South and west Cambridgeshire.

Martin is a member of the VHCC (Very High Cost Case) Panel, as well as being a Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor.

 



Ben Singh

Ben is a Partner and head of the personal injury department. He has been a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel since 1995. He has specialised in personal injury work for over 20 years since being called to the Bar in 1988 and qualifying as a solicitor in February 1991.

He has been a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and also a Fellow of the College of Personal Injury Law. His is experienced in dealing with cases that involve injuries from minor whiplash to those of the utmost severity.

 



Fred Dyke

Fred joined Oldhams in 2004 and is responsible for the running of Crown Court cases in the Criminal Department.

 



Kate Kingham

Kate is a family lawyer who has worked for Oldhams since 2000. She has experience in all areas of family law including divorce, matrimonial property, children, child abduction, domestic violence and co-habitation disputes. She can also assist clients in Change of Name Deeds and Statutory declaration.

 



Nick Oldham

Nick joined Oldhams in 2008 and now runs our Employment Department, providing specialist advice. Having trained and qualified as a Solicitor in London, he regularly appears as an Advocate in the Magistrates Court and has also represented clients in care proceedings and at parole board hearings in prison




Sylvia Phillips

Sylvia is a Personal Injury Solicitor who trained and qualified with a top London niche Personal Injury firm in 2002. Sylvia is also part of the team that represent families at the Luton and Dunstable Coroner’s Court for the Road Victim’s Trust.



Samantha Stokes

Prior to joining Oldhams in 2008 Sam worked for a specialist family practice in Stevenage for 6 years. Sam is a Solicitor who practices in all areas of family law. She specialises in cases regarding children.

 



Kelly Trevett

Kelly joined Oldhams in 2008 having qualified 10 years earlier. Kelly is a family Solicitor practicing in all areas of family law. She specialises in divorce and matrimonial issues, in particular the resolution of complex financial claims.

 

                                                       

Kairen Hoyland

Kairen joined Oldhams in 2008 having been awarded a Distinction for the Legal Practice Course. As a Solicitor she specialises in Personal Injury Law. Kairen also represents families at the Luton and Dunstable Coroner's Court for the Road Victim's trust.
